SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES

LIMA TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING, MAY 10, 2010

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and opened with the Pledge to The Flag. Present were Supervisor Unterbrink, Clerk Bareis, Treasurer Havens, Trustees McKenzie and Laier and Zoning Administrator Frisinger.  Also present several residents and guests.

 

Motion by Laier supported by McKenzie to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 12, 2010, as submitted.  Motion carried.

 

The Treasurer’s Report was received.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to accept the proposal from SDI, for preliminary structural assessment of the Lima Township Hall, dated April 26, 2010, and authorize the Supervisor to sign.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to table Thornton Farms security system request, until we receive an attorney opinion on disposition of funds generated by the Consent Agreement between Lima Township and Thornton Farms.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to sign the proposed Washtenaw County Road Commission Contract, for two applications of Kaiser Well brine to local roads, utilizing road commission matching funds of $14338.00. Motion carried.

 

Motion by Unterbrink supported by McKenzie to schedule two public hearings on June 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. to hear public comments on the proposed stand alone Noise Ordinance for Lima Township and the amendment of Section 6.4 of the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance, to remove the noise control requirements.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Unterbrink supported by Laier to amend the agenda to correct reference to rezoning application 10-002 to application 10-001.  Motion carried.

 

Resolution 2010-03 was offered by Havens supported by Laier, to amend the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance, Application Number 10-001, with agreement for certain future safeguards and conditions granted as a condition of approval for a rezoning from (AG-1) Agriculture to (GC) General Commercial, as recommended by the Lima Township Planning Commission and the Lima Township Planner.  The address is 11516 and 11506 Jackson Road; Dexter MI 48130, Parcel G-07-400-019.  Ayes: Laier, Havens, Bareis, McKenzie, and Unterbrink. Nays: None. Absent: None. Resolution declared adopted. 

 

A complete copy of this resolution is on file in the Lima Township Office at 12172 Jackson Road.

 

 

 

Motion by Unterbrink supported by Laier to authorize the purchase of three used fire resistant filing cabinets in the amount of $1800.00, to include shipping.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Unterbrink, supported by Laier to pay the bills a presented plus any others as may be required. Motion carried.

 

The Zoning Administrator issued permits for 5 new homes, 1 commercial, 1 home addition, and 5 decks.  For final inspections were completed.

 

Motion by Laier supported by Unterbrink to adjourn at 9:00 p.m.  Motion carried.
