SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES

LIMA TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING, NOVEMBER 8, 2010

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m.  Present were Supervisor Unterbirnk, Clerk Bareis, Treasurer Havens, Trustees McKenzie (arrived 6:45 p.m.) and Laier and Attorney Victor Lillich.

 

Motion by Laier supported by Havens to go to executive session to discuss the Bateson Settlement Conference of November 4, 2010.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Laier supported by Havens to adjourn closed session and go to regular session at 7:22 p.m.  Motion carried.

 

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m. and opened with the Pledge to The Flag.  Others present were Ronald Mazurek of Ann Arbor Moose, Penny Laier, Paul Frisinger, Arly Spink, Ed Greenleaf, Jim and Cindy Chaconas, Ron Ruth, Lynette and Joe Egan, Dale Frey, Gary Adams, William Coltre and Elizabeth Sensoli.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported Havens to approve the agenda with the addition of discussion of the Ernest Bateson, Steinbach Road Lawsuit and the proposed Indoor/Outdoor Recreation Ordinance.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to accept with changes the minutes of the October 11, 2010 Regular Meeting and the October 25, 2010 Special Meeting/Work Session. Motion carried.

 

The Treasurer’s report was received.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to name Ron Ruth a temporary Ad-Hoc Bridge and Roads Committee leader, and present a list of interested persons to serve on the committee, to the Township Board.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to table any action on the Bateson Settlement Conference scheduled for November 9, 2010, pending the actual conference on November 9, 2010. Motion carried.

 

Motion by Unterbrink, supported by Laier to appoint Brian Urquhart as Alternate to the Zoning Board of Appeals, term to expire December 31, 2013.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Laier to table any action to 2011 Appointments until the December Township Board Meeting. Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Havens to set a special township board meeting/work session Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. to hear/discuss the MERS presentation to be followed by discussion of WWRA By-Laws and Budget, and discussion of the Indoor-Outdoor Recreation, proposed amendment to the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance. Motion carried.

 

Motion by Laier supported by Havens to pay bills as presented.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by McKenzie supported by Havens to recess this meeting to November 9, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. to Judge Schwarze Court in the Washtenaw County Court House.  Motion carried.

 

The Lima Township Board of Trustees reconvened at 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at the Washtenaw County Court House with all Township Board Members present.  Also present were Attorney Victor Lillich, Jim Chaconas and Joe Egan. 

 

Motion by Laier supported by McKenzie to adjourn at 12:35 p.m.  Motion carried.
