ELECTION INFORMATION

 

The Primary Election will be coming up on August 3, 2010, the hours when you may come to the Lima Township Hall at 11452 Jackson Road to vote are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

When you vote in the Primary Election you will be nominating a State of Michigan Governor, Representative in Congress 7th District, Representative in the State Legislature 52nd District, and State Senator 18th District.  You will also be nominating Washtenaw County Commissioner 1st District and Delegates to the County Convention.  Remember, you may vote in one partisan section only, you cannot “split your ticket”.

 

The courts have ruled, every Michigan voter who offers to vote at the polls must comply with the new requirements by showing picture identification or signing an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification.

 

Voters can satisfy the picture identification requirement by showing a Michigan driver’s license or a Michigan personal identification card.

 

Voters who do not possess either document may show any of the following picture identification, as long as they are current.

            Driver’s license or personal identification issued by another state

            Federal or state government issued photo identification

            U. S. Passport

            Military identification card with photo

            Student identification with photo from a high school or an accredited institution of                       higher education

            Tribal identification card with photo

 

Voters without picture identification may vote by signing an affidavit.
